Coaching
What is Coaching?
According to the International Coach Federation, coaching is a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires clients to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.
We all have goals we want to reach, challenges we’re striving to overcome and times when we feel stuck and in the dark, especially when you are trying to do it alone. Partnering with a coach can set you on a path to and realize greater personal and professional potential and fulfillment.
What to Expect
Coaching is a partnership and a process between client and coach. This relationship requires getting to know you and you to get to know me, me holding you naturally, creative, resourceful, and whole, and us working together to enable your greater potential.
All coaching sessions are 100% confidential. The more honest and open you can be, the more transformative your journey will be.
Our first session will be 1.5 hours during which we will learn more about each other and design our partnership. Next, we will meet about every other week for about 50 minutes. Utilizing various approaches, we will gain awareness and clarity in who you are, what is important to you, and what you want, and work together to attain that. Typically, this will include leadership assessments which are based on and give insight into factors that contribute to and detract from leadership effectiveness and performance.
During our sessions, we will explore a topic and I will ask a lot of questions and make requests, inquiries, challenges, and even assign homework – all in service of exploring and deepening your awareness and learning, and attaining your greater potential. Often, that awareness and learning may not come until after our session.
The typical length for an initial engagement is six months. Some engagements go for three months while others can last a year or more. As the client, you determine the length of our engagement. Our last session will focus on completing our work together and setting you up for success. At that time, you can decide if you’d like to continue our coaching relationship to work on other areas of your life, continue working on the same area, or take a break. It is completely your choice.
